What Should You Do If You Receive A Dose Of Contaminated Radioisotope?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

In case you have received a dose of contaminated radioisotope you should get in contact with the emergency services immediately. You have to notify the Office of Environment, Health and Safety and Radiation Safety (also known as RS) as soon as possible. In case the contamination occurred by airborne agents then evacuate the area immediately to avoid further contamination and lock all doors and windows. Wait for the RS to make a showing. If the contamination is one one's person, then remove and discard the clothing affected and clean the affected area with soap and water. Again wait for the RS to arrive and assist you further. The clothing or area of ground should be covered over to avoid any further contamination. Do not try and contain a contamination further as the RS are trained for this and well equipped.
