Answer Question

Tesco is a British based Public limited company. It is an international grocery and general merchandising retail chain. It is the biggest retailer in Britain by global sales and domestic market share.

Tesco is a Public Limited Company because the company floated its shares in the market. That way, it was able to raise money for its expansion. As Tesco has expanded in numerous ways over the past years. It has diversified into clothing, consumer electronics, consumer financial services, retailing and renting DVD's, music downloads, internet services, consumer telecom, softwares, consumer health insurance etc. Such wide expansion could not have been possible if it was an enterprise or a privately held company. This diversification has only been possible with the help of public money.
