Is Breast Feeding Better Then Baby Formula?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Yes it is, and it provided some essential protection that cant be given through baby formula.  That said however, it depends on the health and well being of the mother and whether the baby successfully attaches to the nipple or not. Not all babies do, in which case it will do quite ok on baby formula.

Yes it is better, on different levels...for one, you can pass on antibodies and immunities to help protect your baby's health, as well as it is just healthier because a mother's milk is specially designed for your child. Secondly, it provides bonding that goes way deeper than just bottle feeding. Also on a less urgent side, it helps the mother losing baby weight to a certain degree. If like the other person suggested, the baby doesn't latch well, you can always use a pump to extract breast milk so the child is still getting all the benefits of breast milk.
One more plus to breastfeeding is night feedings, you dont have to get up prepare and heat up the milk, you just get the baby and the milk is ready to go instantly..perfect temp and already prepared for you. So that was wonderful for me, and many other mothers who breastfed/feed.
