What Cable Do I Need To Wire Up My Shed From The Mains Electric?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

that depends on the load you will be using. If only lights  and plug ins then you can use-10-2 with ground or 12-2 with ground. If for like 220, in the future I would run at least 10-3 with ground. To main fuse box. Only 10-2 or 12-2 to lights and plug-ins, to wire from mains electric, run at least 10-3 to shed. Just in case 220 volts sometime down the road. If wiring for 220 volts, use a 30 amp double pole breaker in main box, you can use a 30 or 40 in shed box. Let me know how you make out.

Where I wrote 10-2 with ground should be 14-2 with ground. Or 12-2 with ground.
