Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Spanish is a language which is predominantly spoken in Spain and greater parts of the New World. The latter refers to the Western Hemisphere (the part that includes South and North America).  There are more than 360 million speakers who speak Spanish of which about 88 million are in Mexico, about 40 million hail from Columbia and 35 million and 32 million are from Argentina and US respectively.

In fact Spanish apart from being the official language of Spain is a language widely spoken across 19 Latin American countries. It is one of the official languages of the United Nations. The source of the modern Spanish language is the Castilian dialect, which arose in the 9th century BC in north-central part of Spain.
