The flow of electric charges per unit time is called electric current. The unit of current is ampere. When one Coulomb charge is flowed in one Second, then the Current is one ampere. Current is a vector quantity because in a wire it has both magnitude and direction. According to the conventional current, the direction of current is from higher potential to lower potential. Positive terminal of the battery is considered as higher potential and negative potential of the battery is considered as lower potential. Electronic current is the current due to the flow of electrons and its direction is from negative to positive terminal. Moreover, current is a vector quantity but it does not obey the law of addition of vectors.
