How Do You Take A Long Exposure On A Nikon D50?

ttcorca is partially correct. you can set the shutter speed on bulb. that is when you can push the release button and hold it as long as you want and the shutter will stay open until the battery dead. if you have a remote, you can push it once and it will open the shutter and push it again and it will close it. then you have to wait for the camera to process the info. i do lightning shots with the bulb function.

You set the camera on shutter speed, the maximum exposure you can have on a nikon d50 is 30 seconds.
