Consider a memory stick similiar to an external hard drive. All it does is hold information.
1. Insert the memory stick into a USB port.
2. Windows will see it as a mass storage device and install drivers(hopefully without any problems)
3. Once drivers are installed you will get a window "AUTOPLAY" this will have an options window and more than likely you will have a highlighted option like "Open folder to view files". Click on it.
4. Now you're looking at the contents of your stick.
5. If you want to move your files go to :EditMove files - then just move them to the stick. If you want to copy then just highlight the files and drag and drop.
