Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

It might be intriguing to observe that in actuality, while many people are under the impression that a minx is a kind of cat, there is no such breed of cat known as the Minx cat. Yet, at the same time term is commonly found, and also erroneously used. You will find various advertisements repeatedly appearing for so called Minx Cats, which only serves in adding more credibility to this non-existent breed.

There is the Manx cat, which refers to a tailless cat breed which originally came from the Isle of Man, situated in Great Britain. The term Mynx is at times used to refer to a cross breed of this cat.

Colloquially the term may also be applied to a girl or even a young woman thought to be pert, flirtatious or impudent.
