It can be a good time getting away from all of the stresses of every day life and relaxing on holiday. The problem is that you may be stressing about leaving the rats behind especially if you know that the rat has a tendency to lunge for people.

The thing that makes it harder is the fact that the lid is broke as well. The best thing to do is to properly inform the person looking after the rats for you and if possible, try and find a cheaper tank for the mean time or even a more expensive one if you can afford just before you go away.

This way it can help to get rid of any worries that you may have and can help to solve the problem as well.

Everybody worries about things back home when they are on holiday. It's just a fact of life! It is a bit ironic though because the purpose of a holiday or vacation is to relax! Your concern is certainly well-founded, however.

The best route is to leave your pet rats with someone who you can trust and who hopefully has some prior experience with the animals. Explain to the person in detail about your concerns and show that you are concerned for the person's safety. You can show the person how to take the same precautions that you normally take to protect yourself from the rat that bites. Another idea is to get another lid or cage that is more protective temporarily. If you 'cover all your bases' so to speak, by ensuring that no one is hurt by your pet, there is no reason to worry. Then you will be able to enjoy your vacation.
