Memory works by linking and association. Try to associate the thing that you are trying to remember to an image/narrative of something you like. For example: To remember the numbers 2479, imagine a swan on a sailboat launching a boomerang on a hook. Imagine 2 as a swan, 4 as a sailboat, 7 as a boomerang and 9 as a hook.
