    How Do I Take Care Of A VERY Small Minnow???

    I caught him yesterday. I caught it at Richmond bridge forest hill,LA. It is very small.(about a millimeter to a centimeter)

    Actually I'm not sure I agree with kmo this time.    As the mother of 4 kids, 3 of whom were constantly bringing minnows home, I would say don't put it in a bowl for heaven's sake.  They have to have running water, not still water.  So a pump in a aquarium might work, but not a regular bowl.  As for the food, changing the water etc., I'll leave that in kmo's capable hands.  All our died, so you definitely don't want to feed them what we did.

      Best thing you can do to take care of him is to let him go!  Take him back where you found him and where he was doing just fine.  Very small minnows are best  left to be as they do not survive long in household care.

      The minnow is already separated from its school, Y, so it will not survive long in nature. It will survive longer in a fish bowl or tank.

      Just get some small food, like beta food.. And keep his water moderatly clean...too much changing of the water will kill it... But other than that , not a lot...
