Can Anyone Recommend A Good But Not Terribly Expensive Hotel In UK?

Answer Question

After living here for far too many years to think about and having travelled round a bit, I would recommend that you do not stay in a hotel but try a family run Bed and Breakfast. If you plan your holiday by travelling round and staying in this sort of accommodation it will give you chance to speak to the owners, who are locals. You can't beat local knowledge and you will find these people a lot friendlier that faceless hotel staff who don't really have time to talk but will readily hand out 'what's on' leaflets without being able to tell you what there is to see.

I generally  find that Travelodge which has places all over the UK are normally very reasonable priced. There is an excellent website called laterooms which gives the best info on all hotels and is very easy to book online. Try it, you will be very impressed.
