What Can One Find In The Tower Museum In Derry?

Answer Question

The Tower Museum, roughly opposite the Guildhall in Derry/Londonderry is a museum of the history of Derry, a fixture of the walled city of Derry, a famous walled city, the defences of which were never breached in its history. (which is a reason that Derry is often referred to as the Maiden City).

The Tower Museum has two major exhibits, the first is a history of the site of the walled city from its earliest stone age dwellings up to today.  It includes its importance in the reign of British Kings, the siege itself, the occupation by the English, the Guilds, right through to Bloody Sunday, various bombing campaigns and the uneasy peace.

The second part of the museum is the final resting place for many items from the wreck of a vessel of the Spanish Armada which was wrecked on the North West Coast of the Republic of Ireland, including a huge bronze siege cannon destined for use against England in Spain's invasion plans.
