    They are commonly known as Rodents and available in the dry regions of North America. They leap on their hind legs, which resembles to the action of Kangaroo, and hence the name. They have a large head compared to their body seize with a pair of bright large eyes and soft far covering their body. They have a long tail as well. They live in a den with wide opening and they dig it by themselves. They generally eat insects, seeds, leaves, stems, fruits, etc. Being the habitant of desert, they are adapted to survive in waterless environment. They are able to convert the dry seeds they intake into watery substance and also they have specialized kidney to help them dispose waste materials with minimum supply of water.

      They are rodents and are found in dry regions and deserts, common in North America. They have a large head compared to their body, large hind legs so they can leap, hence the name "Kangaroo" Rat. They burrow in dens made by themselves during the day to keep themselves cool. They usually eat insects, seeds, leaves, fruits etc. They can make a watery substance from their dry food and their kidney will concentrate their urine to stop water loss.
