For the better growth of Hibiscus, it should be protected from hot and cold environment. Care must be taken in the cold weather and if you have placed your hibiscus outside then place it in the protected area in the winters. If the plant is in the ground then you should cover it. There are different temperature ranges in different areas and covering up Hibiscus becomes necessary when temperature falls below freezing point.

Another way to protect the plant from very cold weather is to use an anti-transpirant. Pests can always attack the plant in winters as well therefore, use insecticidal soap in winters to kill the notorious pests. You can also reduce the watering of Hibiscus because in winters the level of transpiration is reduced and plant does not require much water.
