Will You Be Displaying Your Flag?
This Thursday is September 11th. Too many of us, it brings memories of a horrible day (7) years ago when America was attacked by terrorists. Would you all change your avatar for just one day to reflect something patriotic? I believe it would be a good observance by all Americans.

You're definitely right as we also have a flag displayed on our front porch...I just thought it would be nice if many of us would change our avatars for one day to show our patriotism for this particular Thursday, in remembrance.
I have trouble changing my avatar as I am computer dumb. But I will honor that day in my heart and in memory and prayer for those lost and those who lost loved ones. It should be a recognized national holiday I think.

I'm glad that 9-11 made all of you so proud to be American. However, I was proud to be American prior to 9-11, so I made no changes to how I live my life and show my patriotism, nor will I do so in the future.

Desertkid, i'm curious, what is meant by your comment? I take dragon72's to mean that he has been patriotic long before 911 and that it's a shame that it took 911 to bring patriotism out of people instead of the simple fact of being a citizen. I feel the same way. It's part of the reason i served in the military and i have a feeling dragon72 did as well.

Yes, we will have our flag flying out front of our home on both Thursday and Friday. I hadn't thought about the avatar -- that's an excellent idea, so I may try finding a patriotic one for Thursday. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes, we will be flying our flag. My husband has it displayed as a reminder of the importance of patriotism during the election season. It will be up until the second Tuesday in November!

Sounds like a GREAT idea, everyone should remember that date and pray for the souls that perished in the COWARDLY attack on the USA. Our local American Legion Post holds a public observance and remembrance each September 11th and has done so since September 14th, 2001, 3 days after the horrible event.

Great picture! Glad many blurters are changing their avatars, even if it is only temporary.
My country's flag is ALWAYS on display in front of my home. Sorry I found this to late to change my avatar but know that I would have if I'd known. We need more patriotic people showing how they feel about this great country we live in!!

THANKS Ruthie! We had many patriotic avatars that day, and some still have kept them which is nice. Many of us also display our flags at our homes.
I doubt I will change my avatar but I will definitely fly my flag on my home and I keep one on my truck!

Find a picture of an American flag on the internet and save it to "your documents"..Then go to to your page where you can upload another avatar...then select browse and it will take you to your documents...select the flag or other patriotic symbol that you have saved and clidk on the submit tab. Then save it.
