How Many Shoes Have You Went Through?

Only about 10. My parent's used to wait until my shoes were tattered and torn until I would get a new pair. I haven't got a new pair in two years. I really need to get a job.

When I got ready to move to CA 10 years ago I went thru my closet to pack my shoes.  There was just no way my new husband would accept moving my 107 pairs of shoes, most of which I'd only worn a time or two.  We narrowed it down to 60, including shoes, boots, tennies, slippers, whatever.  I generally give about 20 pair a year to charities and have done so my whole adult life.  So, if I'm 64 (almost) and I go back till when I was 18, that's 46 yrs of giving away on an average of 20 pairs = 920 pr.  Those of course were not worn out, I'd never give away ratty shoes.  But I do say I've gone thru them.  Add to that the approximately 40 pair during childhood (I always had 2 or 3 pair at a time) that's 960, and the 34 pair I have right now, that's 994, so almost a thousand pair.  I already have at least the other six picked out to buy, so an even thousand by the end of summer should be a pretty accurate count.  Do yo think that's more or less than the average woman my age?  I think zexion is unusual in the small number of pairs, but I must say I'm admiring of someone with that much self restraint.  (In case you're feeling sorry for my husband, don't.  He has more shoes than I do!)

It is a sinful goodness of mine. I love shoes. I can't stop buying thing. I am only 18, and I have went through (exactly)289 pairs of shoes. Even though I have so many I remember to give back to the community, so I donate some every year to Purple Heart.
