Which Is The Best Driving School For Me?

Once you've got your Provisional Licence, you can start to look for a suitable Driving School or Private Qualified Instructor. You may have already heard of some local driving schools in your area, or instructors recommended by friends and family.

There are a wide range of driving schools and instructors, from local single-person instructors to regional and national driving schools. BSM and the AA Driving School are the two most popular national schools, and although lessons may be more expensive than local instruction there are often plenty of discounts and special deals to be had. For example, the AA can help with obtaining your Pass Plus qualification.

Some of the factors that you might want to consider when choosing a driving school are:

a) Is the instructor able to pick you up from your home?
b) How much are the lessons?
c) How long are the lessons?
d) Do they offer discounts if you book lots of lessons at once?
e) Can you book an intensive course (you may or may not want this option)?
f) Do they teach in automatic or manual (you may have a preference)?
g) Have they been recommended by friends/family?

Hi there, any driving school would be just as good if not better than the bigger schools as we are all tested and marked in the same way. The best way to find a good school is recommendation or even have one lesson to see what they are like. The cheapest is not always the best and the most expensive isn't always the best either. Don't be drawn in by companies that offer to pay for your second test if you don't pass. They have so many get out clauses.
