Do You Have Any Renal Diabetic Diets To Work Off Of?
I'm on dialysis and having a hard time knowing what to do with the diet. It's hard because some of the things you can have on one you can't have on others. I have to watch salt, potassium, phosphorus and fluid intake. That's with the renal diet and most everyone knows about diabetic diets..

New Renal/Diabetic Disease patients will receive individual renal diabetic diet plans. In general, here are a few guidelines patients can follow:
1) If you have diabetes, do not take foods that are high in sugar.
2) Don't add salt to food.
3) Limit high-quality protein foods to eight ounces (oz.)
4)Limit milk, yogurt, ice cream or sherbert to one ½ cup daily.
5)Do not take potassium and phosphorus foods.
6)Take only three fruit servings a day.
7)Limit vegetables to two servings daily.
8)You can take Regular margarine, mayonnaise, and cooking oils.
Fruits that are low in potassium include apples, blueberries, cherries, cranberries, coconut, fruit cocktail, grapefruit, grapes, peaches (canned), pears (canned), pineapple, strawberries, and tangerines. Good choice juices included apple, grape, and cranberry. Vegetables that are OK to consume are asparagus, beans (green), beets, bell peppers, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, chili peppers, corn, cucumber, eggplant, greens (collard, mustard, kale), lettuce, mushrooms, onions, peas, radishes, and squash.
Vegetables to avoid include artichokes, beans, Brussels sprouts, lentils, lima beans pumpkin, squash, spinach, succotash, tomato, and vegetable juice.
