The word cookies are derived from Unix objects ~ magic cookies. There are some websites that require you to enable cookies before they allow you access. They do this because cookies tell the website owner the location of the person who is surfing the site. This will allow the website manager to customize the website according to the location of the surfer.
The procedure to be followed while enabling cookies is differs from browser to browser
Internet Explorer
• Open Internet Explorer
• Click on Tools
• Click on Internet Options
• Click on Privacy
• You will see a slider that can move up and down. If you move it upwards then it will allow you to block cookies and downwards to enable all cookies.
• After moving it downwards, click OK
Mozilla
• Click on Edit
• Select Preferences
• Expand Privacy and Security
• Click on 'Enable all cookies'
• Click OK
There are minor variations in the procedure when there are different versions of IE and Mozilla.
