Yes like the other person answered.  You have to show you are responsible enough.  If you have some money saved you might want to offer to give it to your parents to help with the cost.  It is not just the cost of the puppy but the vet appointments and food cost quite a bit afterwords.  Also I would read as much info about the breed of dog you want and how to go about training them so when you talk to your parent you sound knowledgeable.  You could also just ask your parents out right what do I have to do so they would consider getting a dog.
