I dunno, summer school has always been a pain in theneck. I'm actually really glad to seesome alternatives opening up, although I don't think people know much aboutthem. There's actually several programsout there now where students can take courses online form home to make up thecredits. I know that BYU IndependentStudy ( ce.byu.edu )has courses it just sends to high schoolers and they just work through it ontheir own time. Or Fieldstone Academy ( www.fieldstoneacademy.org) has live online courses if the kid needs more of a personal touch. I'm sure there are even more than that outthere. I would suppose you should justbe looking to find one that fits your needs. But I would have to say that most of them are still better than summerschool.
