I Am Going On Holiday Soon, Where Can I Get My Travel Injections?

Answer Question

Generally your GP will give you any necessary travel injections, or a nurse can give them also. Really you do need to visit the GP around eight weeks in advance before you travel. That way they have plenty of time to know which vaccinations you will need and they will be able to ensure that they have the vaccine in for you before you fly. If you leave it too late the GP may not be able to get you the vaccinations needed.
Another thing to keep in mind is that not all vaccinations are free and so you may need to pay for your vaccinations as well as an administration fee. If you are pregnant it is worth consulting your doctor as pregnant women are not allowed certain injections. So, overall the best place to have any travel vaccinations done is your local GP's office. It is quick, easy and the most convenient just as long as you give them plenty of notice.
