What Is More Volatile Between Water And Acetone?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Acetone is more volatile and readily flammable than water. It typically explodes as flash fires when stored under temperatures of about -20 degrees Celsius. When heated above temperatures of about 465 degrees Celsius it automatically catches fire. Electrical static discharges may cause acetone to explode as well. However, water is stable in comparison and would never catch fire, in fact water is used to put out fires normally.
