1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

It has been found that Shakespeare has contributed some 2000 words to the English language, one in every ten of his written work. Most are derived from Latin and Greek root, a habit taught him by his playwrighting contemporaries, Christopher Marlowe, Thomas Watson, Robert Greene and Thomas Nashe.
