Do You Keep Your Licence Plates?

I'm selling a car and want to know if I should keep my licence plates or leave them on the car does anyone know the laws on that ???????

    You must turn your tags in, That is your registration and if not turned in the state will fine you for not having proof of insurance on that vehicle. It happend to me once.And It wasn't fun to fix. Turn Your tags in or transfer them to your new vehicle.

      Actually, it varies widely from state to state.  You should contact your local DMV(Department of Motor Vehicles).

      In WA state USA, the license plates and tabs stay with the car.  But you as the seller do have just 5 days to report your vehicle sold.  Usually their is a form and instructions for this right on your Vehicle Title.

      Other states have different systems.  So pick up a phone or go online or whatever is needed to get it right and therefore save the headaches.
