    Shandwick Place is a street near the city center of Edinburgh. The entire locality in and around Shandwick is a tourist area. It is called the West End. To one end of Shandwick Place is the Princess Street and the other end is Haymarket. The road in the direction of Haymarket leads to the airport.

    Edinburgh castle is located on the grounds of Princess Street Gardens. Towards Princess Street and branching of perpendicularly to the North from Shandwick Place are Queensferry Street and Palmerstone Place both of which lead to the "Modern Art and Dean Galleries".

    Several banks and financial institutions including the Bank of Scotland, the Armed forces Careers Office, Army Navy & Airforce Career Service, Several Public houses, inns and bars, The Boots chemist shop, the British Association for Adoption and Fostering, the British Heart Foundation, Children in Scotland charity, the Clarendon hotel, an Early Learning Centre, St. George's West Church, several opticians and other retail establishments are located around Shandwick Place.
