I have experienced this myself. Stress makes us anxious which in turn causes our muscles to tense up. Over a period of time, this tension uses up a great deal of energy and makes you very tired when in fact you've probably done very little (or very little worthwhile from your point of view). It's no surprise that you need extra sleep to compensate for this, but if you're anything like I was, the 2 day 'sleep ins' are more likely to stem from depression and a kind of mental torpor which tries to stop you going out and getting stressed all over again. I would ask your doctor for some anti depressant/anxiety medication which may at least help you back onto an even keel. All the best,
