Do I Need An Internet Provider If I'm In A 'Hotspot' Using Wireless Technology?

I am in a public hotspot...how do I access it and do I need an IPS?

    You don't need an IPs for it. The wifi will work as long as you have a wireless card installed in your computer. If it doesn't work, there may be a button on your laptop that needs to be pressed to start it up.

    Thank you for your quick response...Enchantlee...I am using an out-dated desktop w/CRT with 'XP' installed that I bought real cheap from the community College...they were upgrading...I have access to a 'Linksys' Wireless-G PCI Adapter w/SpeedBooster that I can install...is this what you mean by a 'wireless card'???...and do I need a 'modem'???...I guess not...huh???...also... I noticed you haven't pinned me on your map yet...and you do sing quite well...Myley ROCKS!!!...even though I could pass as her "grandfather"...OUCH!!!...
