When Would You Categorize A Person As Suffering From EDNOS?

Answer Question

You can safely say a person is suffering from EDNOS, an acronym for Eating Disorders Not Otherwise Specified, if he shows some symptoms of an eating disorder while not manifesting the others. While this sounds a little odd, the chances of this happening are not too vague.

In fact, there have been many instances where a person has exhibited tendencies of being anorexic, but physicians have not been able to classify her as a total anorexic. A simple case in point would be the instances where a woman would display all the tendencies of being an anorexic, in terms of severely limiting her food intake, and yet there would be no outward manifestation of this deprivation in terms of a reduced body weight. Such a person would appear to be normal, just like anyone else, but actually wouldn't be so. You could identify such a woman as suffering from EDNOS.

EDNOS is not limited to just anorexics alone. You would find semi-bulimics and binge eaters who would fit this profile well.
