Where Is Portsmouth?

Portsmouth is a small city which is situated in the county of Hampshire. It is on the Southern Coast of England. The estimated number of residents in Portsmouth is roughly around 448, 353. This statistic makes it the 11th largest urban area in England. Portsmouth is the worlds oldest dry dock and still houses many famous ships.

Although Portsmouth was asked to become a military port, they declined the offer. Even though they declined the offer they still remain a major dockyard and base for the Royal Navy.

Portsmouth was founded by John of Gisors (Jean De Gisors) in the year 1180. Portsmouth is also famous for its football team Portsmouth football club. Portsmouth Football club play their home games at the Fratton Park, they are in the process of making a new stadium on the same site.
