It is hard to tell. The name Arce has connections to Greek mythology in that Arce was the sister of Iris and at one time messenger to the gods. It is also a municipality in Italy. Since the Greeks traded throughout the Mediterranean, the name just might have an Arabic influence. It is more likely that someone construed the fact that ARCE is also an abbreviation for the "American Research Center in Egypt".
