My Hair Is Dyed Red And The Roots Brown I Want To Go Blonde How Do I Do This At Home?

Answer Question

My gut reaction to this is DON'T. This is corrective color that is best handled by a stylist. However, if you are going to try anyway, you're going to want to try to bleach just the red out first. Red dye is really difficult to bleach out of hair. When you get the red part to the level of lightness that you want your hair to be, then carefully go back and do the roots. Your roots won't take nearly as long since it is "virgin" hair. Depending on how blonde you want to be, you will probably need to use a toner in your hair after because your ends will probably be a little on the yellow side.

You will most likely end up with a big mess if you try this at home.
Also, you would have to retouch at the very least, every four weeks. Your roots will start showing after about 10 days.
Remember, hair colors are CHEMICALS and if you do not apply them properly, not only could you end up with orange hair, you could also damage the hair beyond repair.
Once you have screwed up your color, it is going to cost you a whole lot more money for a color correction, (if it is even possible), than if you just go ahead and get it done right in the first place.
