How Has Television Changed In The Last 50 Years?

Bigger better screens and definition, but the writing diverged into 2 directions - either compelling (like action dramas along the lines of 24) to mindless drivel, too many staged 'reality' situations, and where cartoons used to be well drawn, captivating and entertaining, have evolved to a place where if they were available in printed form, they wouldn't be worthy of lining the bottom of a birdcage.
The early sixties were a little too starched for me, but I'll take the 70's programming over most of the last decade in a heartbeat.

The complete makeover of TV industry has taken place. 3D, special effects etc. And latest cameras and techniques has made it all possible to portray on TV screen what was a joke or distant dream in the past.
