How Was Buddhism Originally Practiced?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Coming from a Tao monk, there is no practice in Tao, just experience. Really. In Buddhism and Taoism the observation of things and oneness with the environment not necessarily nature but the environment your environment is what makes you zen and harmonious. So to say you practice these things is self defeating and inharmonious where to balance your chi and forget the self, make the harmony of your environment.

For the more dense people out there, Taoism and Buddhism are basically one in the same where Tao is a polytheistic and the Buddhist are monotheistic. Their practice over the last 3k years has not 'changed' in any divergent ways, there is only the Buddhists and the 'Zen' Buddhists. The zen Buddhist believe that while on earth life is desire and that we suffer through our desires, their practice is one that to achieve Nirvana you must throw away worldly desires, through meditation.
