As a third year student you should be able to get assistance for applying for jobs after graduation now, with the help of the Career or Placement Office associated with the place you are studying. I do not know where you live and where you are attending school. Some do ECE preparation at a college or university, while some study ECE at one of the Technical Training Centres around the world. Where you study makes a difference in what your options are at this point. In both types of setting there is usually some Office or Department within the school of learning, which offers advice and assistance to third year students.

If, I were in your situation I would investigate the possibilities of an Internship with a local or nearby company. The demand for ECE prepared technicians and engineers is great in all types of businesses. Think about the courses you have already completed, which of these was the most fun for you and, which presented the greatest challenge you enjoyed. Lean in the direction of that course to decide what type of Internship you would be interested in pursuing.

Talk with counsellors, guidance directors or job placement staff/personnel associated with your college, university or technical school, these are the people who know what possibilities exist at this time. Some colleges require third year students to begin a job search in the third year. Apparently, this was not a requirement for you, and so, you will need to catch up with people who may have already started such a search and some may already have a job for after graduation.

Begin working on a CV or Resume and ask for help from teachers, professors, counsellors are whoever is available to you, in your place of study. As, I said above these are the people who know what is available and they are the best people to advise and guide you, through the application process as a third year student. Good luck in your studies and in your job search!
