Animorphs is a series of novels based on popular science fiction and fantasy theme. The series is written by Katherine Ann Applegate and is mostly written for kids and young adults. The series took the world by storm and every kid in the United States of America and the world started reading the books. The series started in the year of 1996 and the last book was published in 2001. A total of 64 books were published during this time. The meaning behind the name 'Animorphs' is that the characters in the series, had the power to 'morph' themselves into animals. This was made possible due to the alien technology as the series is based in the future.
The main characters of the series are Cassie, Jake, Marco, David, Rachel and Tobias among many others.
