Will Listening To Music Help Me Go To Sleep?

Answer Question

So many of us have difficulties getting and staying asleep. There are a lot of theories, methods and strange rituals which people claim to help us relax off to the land of nod, but how many of them actually work.

Listening to music can actually help you, but I don't advise listening to any thrash metal or house music. What you are looking for is something soothing and peaceful.

Classical music isn't actually a great idea because many composers create quiet and loud sections to their scores. You could just drift off to sleep when you are woken up by a loud timpani.

Instead look for music designed especially for sleep. You will find a lot of them have sounds of nature and running water. My favourite is a trickling river sound with soft instrumentals.
I focus in on the sound of the water and before I know it, I'm asleep!
