    The Himalayan mountain range that spans 1,700 miles across six countries, houses the world's 14 highest peaks. Mt.Everest, the world's highest mountain at an altitude of 29,028 feet, followed by K2, also known as The Karakoram or Austin Godwin located on the border between Pakistan and China at an altitude of 28,251 feet, and the Kanchenjunga(meaning 'the five treasures of the snow') which is the world's 3rd highest mountain at 28,169 feet.
    Others are the Nanga Parbat or 'naked mountain', at an altitude of 26,660 feet, the 9th highest mountain in the world; with a reputation of being one of the most difficult mountains to climb. Among the remaining peaks is the Annapurna range located in the central Himalayas at an altitude of 8091 meters, the highest peaks being Annapurna I and II. The Manaslu and the Dhaulagiri mountain are among the remaining peaks at an altitude of 8,156 meter and 8,201 meters respectively.
