Unfortunately, to take biology at A level, you need to have at least grade C or above at GCSE level. This is because A levels are so much more advanced than GCSE level, meaning that you would struggle with the subject if you didn't have a higher grade.

There is a way around it. All you need to do is resit your biology exams at GCSE level and if you obtain a higher grade, then you will be able to study it at A level.

If you don't wish to resit your GCSE biology exam, then you may have to reconsider your options.

Biology and any other subject relating to science, such as chemistry and physics, are very complex and will be far too difficult for you to study at A level if you struggled with them at school. Resit the exam, and talk through anything you don't understand with your college tutor. If you put in more work than you did at school and persevere, then you should be able to achieve a higher grade and go on to study it at A level.

If you do well at A level, the the next step is university!
