It is also the home of the 'Japanese Imperial Family'. Tokyo is also known as the Tokyo Metropolis as it is an administrative region. The population of Tokyo alone is about 34 million people. The Greater Tokyo Area is the world's most populous metropolitan area.

    Tokyo is one of the world's most major global cities. It is also known as the 'Megacity'. Tokyo is also the commercial, education, industrial, financial and cultural center of Japan.

    As of now the population of Tokyo is around 12,600,400. The current governor of Tokyo is 'Shintaro Ishihara'.

    Tokyo is very famous for its high rise buildings, the most famous being Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building.
