    I Am Thinking Of Going On A Diet But I Am Worried About The Effect It May Have On My Health. Everybody Else Seems To Do It Though So It Must Be Safe Mustn't It?

    While diets can help a lot of people, generally they are not always the best option. You may think that by joining a well known diet company, that you are in safe hands and that you are bound to lose weight quickly while staying healthy at the same time. However, this isn't always true.

    Any form of dieting takes a lot of hard work and many people quit because they find the guidelines too hard to stick to. The main problem with dieting is that you are cutting out certain foods depending on the plan. You are also usually eating the same thing more or less every day. Our bodies need a variety of different fats, carbohydrates, calories and vitamins each day. The only way we can get the right amount of these is to eat a varied diet and most weight loss diets do not give you the right balance that our bodies need.

    So, while these so called diets may help you to lose weight, as soon as you come off their plans you will no doubt put the weight straight back on. To start a diet you would have to be on that diet for the rest of your life in order to keep weight off. The best way to lose weight is to do it naturally by cutting down portions and by exercising more. Don't deny yourself chocolate or crisps but do have them in moderation. If you have one chocolate bar a day, why not try limiting it to one every 3 days to start off with and finally limit yourself to one a week. This will cut down calories and get you used to gradually not having that chocolate fix every day.

    Exercising is also an important part of weight loss and so starting out by doing simple exercises within the home will help to get you started. Walking everyday for around 30 minutes is one of the best ways to stay fit and healthy and it is one of the easiest forms of exercise.

    So while diets can and do help people to lose weight, the healthiest way to go about it is to do it yourself, maybe even with a friend. Researching healthy recipes and going out for more walks will really help you kick start your weight loss plan and remember, cutting back not cutting out is the answer.
