Life is only important if we use it to make God, ourselves and friends happy.  When we love God, for example, we work diligently in all that we are set to do, as we pursue excellence..if you dance dance well, if you are a secretary then type well. In the end you get the satisfaction of achieving, and the natural by-product is that you will help others to maximize their own potential as well, if only because they see you excel.  Remember however that it is always better to give than to receive that is the true "tune' of life and if you practice it you will chart a song.

Life is not important if you face a day of nothing but lack and loneliness. In fact that is not life at all, it's standing still and life, by naure, is alwyas on the go. The only way out of that depression is to look up..not at yourself in the mirror..but at the world of possibilities that the Lord provides through the tithes (the grass, the brain, the ideas, the friends and family etc..) which leave a "whiff" that gives man the window to make his/her life into something valuable.

Given the state of the World right now this knowledge should be universal, or is too late to be understood.

Because life feels. It savours happiness and suffers sorrow. Without it, there is cessation of all activities. In order to make our life worth while, we must do things that bring us happiness.
