The body is a awesome machine,I'm not sure if it will cause asthma but in will slow the intake of oxygen that the unborn will receive because the body trys to separate the bad oxygen from the good oxygen for the baby,therefore it affects the baby's breathing and lung development....hope this helps

Thank you. My sonis 5 yeara old and has severe asthma. I used to smoke and I did not find out I was pregnant until I was three months along. As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I quit. I was wondering if I caused his asthma. Thank you for your comment.
I would not say no completely since it does have a lot to do with breathing,I'm so sorry,but I have seen cases were they out grow the asthma,my prayers are with you and him,I hope he out grows it.
The babies lungs are the last to develop they don't develop until the last trimester.

Thank you! I didn't know I was pregnant until I was 3 months along and I was a chain smoker. I quit as soon as I found out but, my son is severely asthmatic! I was hoping I wasn't the reason he can't breathe.
