Big Ben can be found in Westminster, London. The clock tower that houses Big Ben is located at one end of the Houses of Parliament, to put it accurately at the North East end. The turret structure that is the clock tower is mistakenly believed to be Big Ben; it is actually the clock's biggest and primary bell that is named Big Ben.
The designer of this meticulous clock was Lord Grimthorpe and Edward John Dent was the clockmaker who built the mechanism as per specifications provided.
Big Ben has now become a very British Symbol. It is visited by throngs of tourists every year. Its chime is perhaps the most heard chime in the world, being used time and again by BBC radios channel four service. The tower gains special significance during New Years as its chime is used to usher in the London New Year.
