How Well Did The Film 'Eragon' Do?

Answer Question

3 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

As of February 2007, Eragon has grossed a total of $240 million worldwide, and has yet to make a profit. It is the thirteenth highest grossing film of 2006. In the US, the film made $8.7 million on its first day of release, and $23.2 million in the first weekend.

The film received mainly negative review from critics, who felt that the film was 'dull' and that the dialogue was 'silly'. Fans of the book have also expressed negative views of the film and it received only a 15% approval rating at Rotten Tomatoes, and a 29% approval rating by users. However, the film has received positive response for the CGI work, particularly for the way that Saphira, Eragon's dragon, was created. Christopher Paolini, the author of the books, praised the acting, particularly that of Jeremy Irons (Brom) and Ed Speleers (Eragon) despite the negative reviews.

The DVD is due for release on April 17th in the United Kingdom, and March 20th in the United States.

There was no Orik either. The characters of Ajihad and Nasuada were poorly chosen.

You're so right. No Hrothgar, either. Or the twins. Or Du Vrangr Gata.
