Ukraine is a country of southeastern Europe. The total territory of the country is estimated almost 603,700 square kilometers. Kiev is the capital of the country. According to the census report of the year of 2002, the total population was around 48,628,000. Seventy percent of the population is Ukrainians and rest is Russians and Jews.  

Ukrainian is the official language of the country. The languages like Russian, Romanian, Polish and Hungarian are used and accepted widely across the country beside the official language. There are several religions could be found in Ukraine, such as Christianity, Judaism and Islam. The currency of the Ukraine is called hryvny.

The entire country is consisted with plain levels and the Carpathian Mountain. The western region of the country is extended through the Carpathian for more than 240 kilometers. The major rivers of Ukraine are the Bug, Dnieper, Donets and Dniester. The Donets Basin is situated in the east-central part of the country. One of the most important heavy industrial and mining metallurgical complexes in Europe is situated in the Donets Basin territory. Coal and iron ore are mined in Ukraine. The country produced natural gas, petroleum, steel and iron. The main agricultural crops of the country are winter wheat and sugar beets, the country is the main producer of that two agricultural products.

The Republic of Ukraine has one legislative house. The head of the state is called the president. The head of the government is called the prime minister.
