The term inservice, or the phrase inservice program, refers to a series of professional lectures. During these sessions, professional who belong to the nursing profession discuss research and cases which are in connection with the work (in this case, cases of people who are suffering from lead poisoning) for other nurses in their peer group.

An inservice program is one of the most important components of the medical education for such professionals as physicians, pharmacists and other professionals who belong to the medical profession. In the field of nurses for lead poisoning, all the nurses in a particular hospital or a city get together and discuss the cases of people who have admitted to the hospitals they work at. These patients have been admitted into these hospitals because they have suffered a bout of lead poisoning. Lead poisoning is defined as a medical condition which is caused by an increase in the levels of lead in the blood of the human body.
