Be careful. Rats carry many diseases. I would not want to clean their cage after I read about them.

Rats DO NOT carry diseases, they are very clean, i use to have one and lost him to cancer :(, but anyway i am also trying to get another, tell ur dad u'll pay and take care of the rat also do research and show your dad how a rat will be a good pet
